The classic Victorian silhouette

I adore the Victorian silhouette. Bustle ensembles are one of my favourite makes, adorned with trims and embellishments.

The Victorian shape changed throughout the decades of the 19th century however it was all mainly happening at the back with layers of ruched or gathered fabric and lots of padding to emphasize the rear.

There are many ways to achieve the look. Here at the Follies we recommend one of our simple bustle pads for most skirts (heavy fabrics such as wool or velvet would benefit from a lobster cage).

We have several sizes in stock to ensure you get the right fit for your desired look. They are simple and comfortable to wear beneath your skirt and are priced at £20 each making them a great alternative to the far more expensive hooped cage.
