If you’re looking for something completely unique, you may wish to commission a garment. Below is everything you need to know about the design process and information about each stage of construction.
Design.
So you’ve had an idea for an outfit and you’d like to have it created for you by The Follie. The first stage is to get in touch, either by email or at one of the many events we stand at across the country. We can chat about your vision , discuss fabric options and generally get a feel for the kind of “look” you want to achieve. I will need to take extensive measurements to ensure a close fit. I can then sketch up a design for your approval.
Once you’re happy with the design and have chosen your fabric and trims I will be able to give you a quote and a completion date. I take a 20% non-refundable deposit to secure your space in the diary and to cover the costs of the design and pattern cutting service.
Create
It all gets quite exciting once your deposit is received. I order in the fabric and trims and get busy.. Because the garment is made specifically for you, it will require a fitting. I can not guarantee a correct fit without one. Fittings can take place at an event or in your own home. I charge milage based on the current government guidelines to cover basic costs. There is no charge for fittings taking place at events. Occasionally a second fitting is required before the finished piece is delivered to you but you will be advised accordingly.
Any outstanding balance should be paid upon completion. Items can either be collected from events or posted out for an additional fee. I use Special Delivery so that packages can be tracked and delivery can be guaranteed for the following day.
