Faeries, Follies & Favours was established in 2016 when designer/creator Rachel left a long career in retail management to return to her roots and follow a childhood dream.
Rachel comes from an extremely creative family. She began sewing at an early age, guided by her Grandmother, a talented seamstress in her own right. Hours spent drawing designs and reading about famous artists inspired her to pursue a career in fashion and textiles. After leaving school she attended Cleveland College of Art and Design (now known as The Northern School of Art). There she was able to develop the skills and techniques she had already gained in her childhood.
Now, after many years of only making pieces for family she has returned to her love of fabrics to develop a range of historically inspired clothing and accessories for all ages. Combining historical shapes and modern cloths and techniques , Rachel has developed her own styles for the Gothic and Steampunk cultures and is well known for her attention to detail and skillful fabric manipulation.
