Description
Bustles evolved from the crinoline fashions of the mid 1800s. To make the waist appear smaller it was felt that big drapes and huge amounts of fabric were necessary. As the bustle became older in years it also became bigger. Many contraptions were developed to hold the weight of fabric including elaborate cages and heavy layered pads which were uncomfortable and pretty impractical.
My bustle pad design is both easy and comfortable to wear. It ties at the waist and lifts to create a built in comfy cushion when seated. It can take the weight of the majority of modern Victorian gowns and is available in several sizes.
This pad is a size XL which is suitable for a larger hip measurement. If you are unsure of which size you need drop me a message. I’ll be happy to advise.
